Description
Loctite 491983 is LOCTITE® SI 587—an oxime-cure, metallic-blue RTV silicone designed for form-in-place gasketing and sealing of rigid and stamped flanges. The one-part, thixotropic paste skins in 10–50 minutes, cures to a tough yet flexible rubber, and delivers outstanding resistance to automotive engine oils while adhering to a wide range of substrates; it is commonly used on valve covers, oil pans, timing and rocker covers, water pumps, intake manifolds, and rear axle housings. This product is typically used in applications up to 500 °F (260 °C)
